Sheila Gooddie

Sheila Gooddie has been a teacher, bookseller, researcher, and, for 20 years, a writer.  She has an honours degree from the University of Manchester in English Language and Literature.

Her books include The Summers of Shotton co-written with the late Brian Redhead and published by Hodder & Stoughton, Annie Horniman: A Pioneer in the Theatre, published by Methuen, and more recently Mary Gladstone: A Gentle Rebel, the story of the daughter of eminent Liberal Prime Minister, William Gladstone, which was published by John Wiley.

She is currently working on a biography of American poet and writer, May Sarton, entitled A Precarious Balance: May Sarton: A Poet’s Life – Balancing the tensions of life and creativity.
