Professor Bruce KingProfessor Bruce King, an American who lives in Paris, has taught at universities in England, Scotland, the United States, Canada, France, Nigeria, New Zealand and Israel. His books, which have been published by Macmillan, OUP, Continuum and Haus amongst others,  include Dryden’s Major Plays, Marvell’s Allegorical Poetry, Shakespeare’s Coriolanus, History of Seventeenth-Century English Literature, V S Naipaul, Modern English Poetry in English, Three Indian Poets, Derek Walcott and West Indian Theatre, Derek Walcott: A Caribbean Life, The New English Literatures, Internationalization of English Literature and Robert Graves.

He is series editor of Modern Dramatists, English Dramatists and Literature, Culture and Identity. A former drummer, he has written on jazz, African and Caribbean music.

Bruce’s new book out with OUP is Re-writing India: Eight Writers.
